Together, this Sunday, we have the great privilege of celebrating Mother’s Day—a distinctly American and Christian occasion to honor all those mothers whose love and example make them role models in our families, communities, and workplaces.
Many of us will be planning a surprise delivery, family dinners, or maybe a visit home. Yet the best way to honor our mothers is by being loving sons and daughters who put into practice the faith and virtues we have learned from them.
We give thanks for the gift of our mothers and for the many ways they reflect God’s love for us through their faithfulness, sacrifices, and compassionate care. Happy Mother’s Day! And to our departed mothers: May God grant them eternal rest and peace.
